Miata is featherlight is a world of middle to heavyweights. Rare and rewarding. And it’s rather soft, lots of bodyroll, w a delightful tendency to rear steer. Not slide, steer.

No understeer in this ND. And a 5.8 sec 0-60! That’s what adding lightness does for a car.

Coming from the man who’s set hot laps at Laguna in a P1 and a 918, not to mention all those race cars he’s driven... I’d say praise of a tiny low power roadster doesn’t get much higher.

White is not a flattering color for the ND’s styling. It over-accentuates the catfishiness.

While the Mazda USA site still has nothing resembling a configurator, Mazda UK is happy to oblige. For a car that’s supposed to be all about fun, the colours (we have to include the ‘u’ since this is the UK site after all) are quite dreary, imho.

There are not one but two shades of white, the Soul Red we’ve seen on most of the press cars, silver, charcoal grey, black, and Blue Reflex which is...blueish charcoal grey.

For me it’d be Soul Red or Blue Reflex. But I’m a sucker for a lighter shade of blue on Miatas. This is my old NB...
